VALLEY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

Larry is a retired physical education teacher from the Athens City Schools system. Upon graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a Master’s Degree, he taught physical education for 33 years at City Park Elementary School and retired in 2014. During his tenure, City Park became a Tennessee State Demonstration School for physical education. Larry also served as an adjunct professor at Tennessee Wesleyan University for 12 years in the Exercise Science Department working in the teacher training program. In 2011 he became the Athens City Schools Camp Director and continues to work in a voluntary role as a storyteller.

Larry has two grown children, Lindsey and Kevin, and two grandchildren in Kentucky, Melody and Maddy Grace, which are great joys. Larry is married to Donna and they enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, camping and gardening!

Larry is excited about this new adventure of providing a developmentally appropriate physical education program that is skills-based and challenging!
